-cover art looks great
Update on Fox
-They want to cut our funding because we have become independent
-We have 1800 dollars for two more issues; it will cost 1200 alone for next issue.
-We need to go talk to the director of Fox.
-Ideas: get more involved with Fox
-address their concerns and please them as much as possible
-the problem is that some of the Fox people are uncomfortable putting the
name on something that publishes partisan material
-SAC funding is 5500
-Fox used to give us pocket change (something SAC would never do)
-We should make the case to them that sure you can cut the funding in the future, but if you give us funding for the end of the year, it will give us time
-Maybe we can advertise for them in the magazine.
-We will have a meeting with a Fox director including a large portion of the Exec. Board.
Name Change
-We will have to hold off name change until next issue because of time and Fox funding issue
-With name change, political science department funding possible, but unlikely.
-Timetable? For next issue? Following?
-Consensus that it should be for the last issue of this year, so layout and everything can be complete by next year.
-Short discussion about NOT changing the name; consensus is that it should be changed.
-Penn Political Press, Standard, Review
-General discussion/debate
-Decision: Review vs. Standard at a GBM next weekend
New Promotions
-New editing process has created three Senior Editors; everything worked out well and everything was put in on time. Bill Shotz and Greg Rollman are the two temporary new ones. Motion to promote them to permanent Senior Editors and bring them onto the Board. Passed.
-Josh Rittenberg has been here for a while and is currently working on stats, quotes, etc. Motion to promote him to Senior Writer (responsibility of working on this kind of thing).
-Irene is Senior Design Editor and will be on E-board assuming she does a good job on this issue.
